In I Beat the Odds the Tahoy family has had the most impact on Michael and his life. They always are encouraging him to succeed, which is exactly the right influence he needs. Michael is greatly appreciative of their great attribute to his success. He says that if it weren't for that family he may not have been nearly as successful as he is.
This story keeps developing Michael's ability to succeed. As he starts out as an ambitious poor child he convinces himself that he can get out of this 'hood life his family lives in. He gets new friends that would better help his success. One of his friends dads sees him as a great potential basket ball player because of his height and invests in him. After that he just keeps going up the line.
Overall the story has a great plot that keeps unfolding. As Michael gets out of the ghetto to a friends house. Then he works with tutors to get his grades up and to learn how to take tests and to school work. From there he keeps working up the line to a private school. Then he gets into the Tahoys' house and family and they become his legal guardians. After that he finally works with Ms. Sue at nights to get his grades up even more so he can go to colleges.
Overall, this is a great second blog! Although in your last paragraph, the way you wrote the second sentence doesn't really make sense, just the way you worded it. It sounds like an incomplete sentence. Other than that, its great! :D Good job!
